"Love is a great force in private life, but love in public affairs does not work." What is the difference between "love" and "tolerance"? Which would you argue for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tolerance above all...love brings us together-we're forcefully attracted to one another by our love, how we love, why we love, what we love, through soul-mates we believe we truly know love. Love is only the beginning, that we should come together but it's very rare to stay in love if you're intolerant. Love means accepting all flaws and devoting everything to the one you love, being loyal, because we love someone so much I think we should tolerate anything if that means it should preserve the love you have together. I would argue for tolerance being that it is what keeps love constant. :)

Have to tolerate the beauty in the moments as well as the harder times that love has.
