Does anybody know the story Beowulf? MEDALS

OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

What about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

Yeah just...Whats your question?

OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

Beowulf remembers all his bragging from earlier, and makes the firm decision to fulfill it.

OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

Hmm, well i suppose it is because he wouldn't give up; he was true to his word. And I agree with you on 1 2 & 3, all correct. :)

OpenStudy (supernova_sonntag):

Well, what qualities do you think make up a hero? Strength, courage, bravery, kindness, ect. What do you think makes up a monster? Scare factor, cruelty, evilness, ect. Find examples from the text of them showing their characteristics in battle; maybe for Beowulf something that he does or says in battle that portrays one of his heroic characteristics. Like when he says "Fate will unwind as it must!" he is showing that he accepts fate (whichever way it will play out) and that he is brave, and not afraid of death.

There's this one about Grendel snatching up a sleeping warrior and eating him. "But on earliest occasion he quickly laid hold of A soldier asleep, suddenly tore him, Bit his bone-prison, the blood drank in currents, Swallowed in mouthfuls: he soon had the dead man’s Feet and hands, too, eaten entirely." Oh and you're welcome. :)
