What is 5 times 20?

OpenStudy (gschibby):

Isn't it easier to just type that in to a calculator than ask here? :P

OpenStudy (gschibby):

Anyway, forget the zero for a while, multiply 2 and five, then stick the zero back on ;)

20x5 +100

100

count by 20 five times then add 100

100

20+20+20+20+20=100

If you have problems with multiplying by tens, try this: Instead of 5X20, do 5X2 which =10. Then add the "0" we took away from the 20 and add it to 10, so now we have 100. You could do the same thing to bigger #'s too! 5X2000 5X200=1000 (add the 0 we lost) 10000

100 :)
