( x/x^2 - 9 ) - ( 3x-1/ x^2+7x+12 ) Solve and I will give medal and also best response :)

OpenStudy (babalooo):

hi have you tried simplifying the denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x/(x-3)(x+3) - 3x-1/(x+4)(x+3)

OpenStudy (babalooo):

okay, awesome! now the thing you want to do is subtract the fractions, right? but they don't have the same denominator, so we can't do that. so we need to make them the same denominator. do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, yes. I have gotten pretty far on it but I can never seem to get the right answer

OpenStudy (babalooo):

what's the right answer and what did you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's because I'm solving for the denominator incorrectly.

OpenStudy (babalooo):

can you tell me your steps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got it! A simple error in my denominator. I will still give you the best response and medal, and i will also fan you. :) thank you
