Solve the inequality for x. (Enter your answers using interval notation.) e^x > 6

OpenStudy (babalooo):

use ln

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how? i know the answer is (ln6, +infinity) but I'm not sure how to get it

OpenStudy (babalooo):

think ln function counteract e. if we ln both sides, ln(e^x) > ln(6) it becomes x>ln(6)

OpenStudy (babalooo):

whenever you ln a e^x function, you'll end up with x because ln(e^x) is the same as xln(e) and ln(e) =1

OpenStudy (babalooo):

x> ln6 and ln function is continuous except on 0 so it goes to positive infinity

i think i got it now :D thank you so much !!!!!
