Frozen water (ice) has less density than liquid water. How does this property of water affect life on earth? ill give medals

well lets think about the polar ice caps since this is frozen water and lies well above the sea level and contains approximately 5 million cubic miles of ice, so lets consider what happens if this frozen water was to completely melt? most of the known world would not be the way it is now see as how much of it would be under water. this could affect many things in life since the ice caps will have melted this will probably drastically lower of the sea waters temperatures lower than what most of the sea life can handle. you can consider sharks for instance that become sluggish in cold waters and will not be able to hunt this is one theory that might have killed megalodon. though by the water staying frozen and above sea level it allows us and the fish in the sea to keep living our normal lives as will as all of the creatures that live on the ice caps.
