its 6x<-18 or 9x>81 but each have the lines under the greater than less than signs please help me solve this inequality

OpenStudy (babalooo):

the line underneath the inequality < > signs are less than or equal to and greater than or equal to <= and >= just solve it like regular inequality

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i struggle with solving inequalities...

OpenStudy (babalooo):

okay so you have 6x<=-18 or 9x>= 81right. don't let the inequality confuse you. treat them like how you would solve them if they were 6x= -18 and 9x =81

OpenStudy (babalooo):

although it does not apply to your question in this case since it's positive, the thing with inequality is sometimes you have to change the > to < and vice verca but this only happen when you multiply or divide by negative value. for example if -2x<10 then you will have to switch sign and get x>-10/2 and x>-5

OpenStudy (babalooo):

other than that, you just treat them the same as you would with = signs

im just having problems solving this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so there would be no solution or all real numbers?...

OpenStudy (babalooo):

yes there's a solution, and it's neither of the suggested solution. I've basically gave you the recipe on how to solve the equation. I'm not gonna solve it for you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you
