-3 +4w=-31 how do you find w?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put w by itself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you add the -3 to -31, then divide the 4 to get w alone

OpenStudy (babalooo):

simple algebra. isolate term with w on one side and then do some arithmetic calculation

OpenStudy (babalooo):

technically you add 3 to -31 right @annie5942

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3+4= what from there all you have to do is subtract the answer from -31 and that's w

OpenStudy (babalooo):

do you know what isolating variables is?

OpenStudy (babalooo):

that's really cool that your messaging me how it's your first time and all, but like i said, have you read the above comments? they are how we are "helping" you. we understand that you need help with this equation thus our comments, but you are not putting much effort in responding with any attempts you've taken in approaching this problem. shouldn't you care about learning how to solve this more than just give me the answers? I mean, I can do this problem in 3 seconds and tell you a number for answer like 124 but can you tell if it is right or not?

switch 31to the other side while switching 4w to other side making positive become negative or vice versa
