viscosity of liquids with rise in temperature :- increases decreases remains same first increses then decreases

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Viscosity decrease with increase in temperature

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u explain the reason too plz?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aaronq

OpenStudy (aaronq):

because intermolecular forces are weakened by stronger thermal vibrations as temp rises.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes...decreases throughly when you increse the temp.the motion of molecules in the liquid got faster and hence friction between layers decreases and hence viscosity decreses.!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in solids wen we incearse temp collison between atoms or particles increses hence incresing frictional force ... y dont this happen in liquid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it exist in liquids but in solids not the collision increases but the amplitued of vibration of atoms ot ions increases..!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yes i got it thanku

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you welcome ddear sis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and that is why volume of solid inrease on incresing the temp or why things got greater volume in summer than in winter..
