Help please timed quiz Which variable is measured in an experiment? (Points : 1) independent variable dependent variable experimental variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dependent variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my gosh thank you but why is that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Controlled variable - A variable that stays constant throughout the experiment, so as to eliminate any influence on the results. Experimental variable - A variable that is changed in the experiment, so the effect can be studied. Independent variable - A variable that you control the value of. It is controlled by the experimenter and so not dependent on the value of other variables. Dependent variable - A variable that changes as a result of another changed variable, i.e. it is dependent on the other variable.

In an experiment, you change the experimental variable, which is also the independent variable, and measure the dependent variable(s), so see the effect. The controlled variables are, in a sense, also independent variables, but you eliminate their influence by keeping them constant, so they have no effect on the dependent variable you're studying.
