x = (-b (+-) sq rt b^2 - 4ac) / (2a)

2x^2 + x = 10
2x^2 + x - 10 = 0

a = 2, b = 1, c = -10

x = (-1 (+-) sq rt 1^2 - 4(2)(-10)) / 2(2)
x = -1 (+-) sq rt 1 + 80) / 4
x = -1 (+-) sq rt 81) / 4
x = (-1 (+-) 9)/4

x = (-1 + 9)/4
x = 8/4
x = 2

x = (-1 - 4)/2
x = -5/2

so x = 2 and x = -5/2
