Which of the following are allowable probabilities? A. 1/14 B. 15/16 c. 1.15 D. 0 E. -0.1 F. 0.45 I'm not even really sure what a probability is so if you could explain, that would be great! Thank you c:

OpenStudy (popitree):

probability is chance of favorable outcome of a event, say u re tossing a coin, so what could be the outcome HEAD or TAIL (2 possible outcome),. So the probability of HEAD (favorable) is 1/2. And it is 0 to 1. So ignore negative values and values > 1

OpenStudy (popitree):

When u throw a dice, possible outcomes 6, so probability that u will get 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 is 1/6

So it would be C and D since neither are negative? Or would it not be D since it's a 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@popitree

OpenStudy (popitree):

A,B,D and F

OpenStudy (popitree):

the range of allowable values are 0 to 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh thank you so much! I didnt realize it was .15 over 1! So its in between 0 and 1 c:

OpenStudy (popitree):

C and E are not allowed... c >1 and E < 0 probability p range is 0 <=p <=1 i think it shld be cleared now
