Yep parentheses first, and remember that multiplication takes precedence over subtraction

can you please walk me through it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this my only question

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

As @superhelp101 said, look at the inner parentheses first.. (25-5*3) The rule to do the operations in order: 1) Parenthesis 2) Exponents 3) Division/Multiplication (they have Equal importance... if both operations are present, you do them in order from left to right) 4) Addition/Subtraction (They also have equal importance) You can remember the order as "PEDMAS", takng each first letter or Parentheses, Exponents, etc. but make sure you remember that DM have equal importance, ans AS too (meaning that dvision does not come before multiplication, or that addition comes before subtraction... unfortunately some people remember this acronym (or other similar ones) and forget the equal importance of the DM and AS operations)
