are you therefore wanting to develop a confidence interval for the men seperate from the women?  are we assuming a normal distribution?  or is this a CI for the whole set in general?

you seem to have 3 variables to contend with, which puts this beyond the scope of my abilities.  and i have so many other questions about the assumptions.  srry, without have taken the class specifically, im not going to be much help prolly.
