look in the screenshots

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

So these.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What class is this for?

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

geometry

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

OK, in a geometry class, hmm, I think they are going to look for an answer that is based on an estimated fit. It may not account for any sort of settling or dead space evaluation. Have they worked out any of these in examples?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Or ones like them.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

like i sometimes answer my questions that's not estimated fit i just need a C or higher lol. I tried i didnt get it

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, let me see if I can show what I mean by dead space. |dw:1409702479930:dw| Lets say those were the pennies in the bottom of the jar... I know it is not accurate, but this is just an example.

jagr2713 (jagr2713):

ok lets do this challenge by challenge

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

All these gaps are in there: |dw:1409702608084:dw| So for a more accurate estimate, you can't just use volume. If you want a rough estimate, volume works, but it would always be less than the volume due to the dead spaces.
