How is the area of a rectangle related to the area of a triangle? @ A rectangle can be divided into two right triangles. So, the area of a rectangle is (width x length) whereas for a triangle the width becomes the base and the length becomes the height. This derives to the area formula for a triangle which is (½ base · height).
