How to find the increase in percentage? is there any formula

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

If the initial value of \(x\) say, is \(x_0\), and some later values is \(x_1\) The percentage increase is \[\frac{x_0-x_1}{x_0}\times100\%\]

ok thanks but no thanks because i got my answer

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

whoops* i got it a bit wrong \[\frac{x_1-x_0}{x_0}\times100\%\]

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

for example if some cat was 5kg, and then a year latter it is 5.5kg the percentage increase is (5.5kg - 5kg )/5 kg * 100% = 0.5kg/5kg*100% = 1/10*100% = 10% the cat has increase by 10%
