A person drinks eight glasses of water each day, and each glass contains 300 mL. How many liters of water will that person consume in a year? What is the mass of this volume of water in Kg (Assume one year has 365 days and the density of water is 1.00 kg/L). I have 2.4 L/yr Is that correct? As for the second part I know I have to use D=M/V, but I don't know how to figure out mass. Can someone explain please?

On second thought, mass=5.8kg...Right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.3L * 8 per day * 365 days per year gives 876 liters per year. for the second part, D=M/V. Density = Mass/Volume. The density of water is given as 1 kg/L. you have 876 liters, so 876 Liters * 1 kg/L gives 876kg after cancelling out units.
