can you use a graphing calculator to solve 4y-5=1
you can graph
it depends on what calculator u have
my instructions are to solve this problem using the graphing calculator method
TI-84
\(\normalsize\color{black}{ 4y-5=1\LARGE\color{white}{ \rm │ }}\) add 5 to both sides, \(\normalsize\color{black}{ 4y=6\LARGE\color{white}{ \rm │ }}\) divide both sides by 4, \(\normalsize\color{black}{ y=2.5\LARGE\color{white}{ \rm │ }}\)
@SolomonZelman Why are you giving direct answers to a poster who asked for guidance on methods to solve this?
And you know where the \(\normalsize\color{black}{ Y_1=\LARGE\color{white}{ \rm │ }}\) \(\normalsize\color{black}{ Y_2=\LARGE\color{white}{ \rm │ }}\) \(\normalsize\color{black}{ Y_3=\LARGE\color{white}{ \rm │ }}\) ...... and on, are. SO just type it in next to Y1, and click "graph"
@MrNood I haven't violated anything
so would y1 =4y-5 and y2=1?
as @SolomonZelman has so ably demonstrated, this equation has a very simple analytical method to get to an answer. It seems a very inappropriate question for a calculator..
I agree, I know how to solve it manually, I think my instructor wrote down the instructions wrong
@MrNood so what is not like he going to get ban for it.
Do you mean "So what? It's not as though he's going to get a ban for it?"
If I will get a ban or a suspension for what I did, it would be unfair, and I will have to fight against this !
I have not even reported it - I am only asking why, since you have put a lot of effort onto this site and are evidently proficient, do you think it is helpful to a poster to give them a direct answer, when the problem is in the mechanics, not in the concept?
@SolomonZelman YES fight for it
Whoa! There is nothing to fight!
MrNood, first of all, this is not the answer, because the question states to graph it on the calculator. And secondly, I will say trhat there are unfair suspensions, ban and warnings on here.... and this is a significant number of times... but lets not get into this. Although I am just a teenager, I AM able to READ what the code says and can clearly say what is written there, and what have the moderators and some others made up from their minds.
