After the Mexican War, Mexico and the United States signed a treaty. The treaty was called the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The treaty said that the Mexico cedes the Mexican Cession, and the United States has to give Mexico $15 million. Cede means to give. Mexico had to give the United States the Mexican Cession. What is Mexican Cession? Well Mexican Cession is the land that was ceded from Mexico. It contains the present-day California, Utah, Arizona, and parts of Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. Here is an overview of it. Does it help?
