quick question about area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So i got 90 as the answer,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the area in this question is 70 i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u only need to find the area of the yellow part not the white part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yellow as in the shaded part?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area of the rectangle should be easy to u (W*L)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes shaded part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area of the triangle is (base*height)/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the options for answers is only 90,60 or 30 (A..B or C)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by looking at the picture u can see the L of the rectangle is 10 and W is 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of crap i mess up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

w is not 4 but 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah 90 u are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 60 for the rectangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but the question asks "Find the shaded area under the curve in this graph" What is the curve suppose to be? thats what im confused on.. is it asking for only the rectangleor only the triangle or both?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(6*10)/2= 30 for triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ask for the area of the shaded part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 90 then
