rvc (rvc):

what is lac operon?

rvc (rvc):

@Abhisar @shereenkhan

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

made up of three adjacent structural genes (lacZ, lacY, and lacA) it is, in Escherichia coli and some other enteric bacteria, an operon required for the transport and metabolism of lactose.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

cool-cool?

rvc (rvc):

@Abhisar

rvc (rvc):

@thomaster plz help

rvc (rvc):

@nincompoop @Abhisar

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

I think its a bacterian mRNA that codes for multiple enzymes that metabolize lactose when glucose is low. Correct me if im wrong....its been awhile!

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

any operon is a set of genes which has a common promoter and these genes code for enzymes utilized in a same or similar pathway. lac operon as stated by praetorian is made up of 3 genes.

rvc (rvc):

thx @shrutipande9 and oo

rvc (rvc):

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

rvc (rvc):
