The expression 0.07(c – 0.05c) represents the amount of sales tax in a certain state that would be collected on an item that has been discounted by a certain percent. The expression has two factors. What is the sales tax percent?

0.07 is the sales tax in decimals. Convert to percentage. Multiply by 100. 0.07 * 100 = 7% sales tax c is the cost of the item and 0.05 * c is the discount on the item.
