Car A leaves the cafe traveling at 55 mph. Car B leaves the cafe 3 hours later, and travels at 70 mph. If they are both headed in the same direction, how far from the cafe will they meet?

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

when they meet they will of course have travelled the same distance let this distance be x miles for car A 55 = x / t where t is the time it takes before car B catches up for car B 70 = x / t-3 because he leaves 3 hours later so you need to solve this system of equations for x and t
