OpenStudy (kkutie7):

Average velocity=0 so displacement=0 what about distance traveled?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

distance forward plus distance backwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i you drive 5 miles to the store and 5 miles home you are back where you started from but you went 10 miles

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

I get it, but i don't know if that really counts as an answer in my homework. "if the average velocity of an object is zero in some time interval, what can you say about its displacement in that interval? what about distance? explain your answer.

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

so average velocity= slope where x2-x1=0 so displacement equals 0 distance traveled would be x2+x1 right?
