@ganeshie8 Last month, Gavin had $5460.45 that he divided into several bank accounts. He deposited 1/5  into an account to save for college. He deposited 2/3  into another account to save for a car. How much money did he deposit to save for college and a car altogether?

How much did he deposit to save for a car? that is kind of messed up up there.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

1/5 of $5460.45 is found by multiplying 1/5 times $5460.45

i fixed it

OpenStudy (imstuck):

I think you might have wanted the amount he deposited for a car to be 2/3. Right?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

2/3 of $5460.45 = 3640.30

OpenStudy (imstuck):

The amount for college is 1092.09 So add them together to find the total amount he deposited for the car and for college.
