I'm dying here, someone help!! Find the sine ratio of angle Θ. Hint: Use the slash symbol ( / ) to represent the fraction bar, and enter the fraction with no spaces.
is this trigonometry?
lord no, geometry. lol
i am dying too !
lol im so serious @satellite73 this stuff confuses me so muchhhhhh.
pretty sure this is trig
\[\sin(\theta)=\frac{\text{opposite }}{\text{hypotenuse}}\]
so once again, what is the "opposite" side here ?
12/13 <--the answer. yeah, its just how do you know when to do which method.. ):
yes, that is the answer
so now a pop quiz what is sine? A) opposite / hypotenuse B) adjacent / hypotenuse C) opposite / adjacent D) thing 1 / thing 2
Oh lawd....
that is the whole point of these exercises, to get you to know these an btw it really is trig
WHY AM I DOING THIS IN GEOMETRY D:
i guess because it involves triangles but it is much much easier than the geometry you were doing before just write the stupid ratio and get it over with
Do I read sass? lol okay okay, have patience with me!!!!!
also i am wondering, is this on line or did a teacher give you this? i have a serious problem with your picture
online.
a. 12/13 b. 5/13. c 12/5 d.... uh?
those are the ratios, yes, but you fail because you did not read the instructions it asked which one was sine!!
I give up on life.
it should be sine is opposite / hypotenuse
how about cosine?
...
all of it is confusing.. anyways, i'll just call my teacher and harass him. lol
there are three things you need to memorize, or write on a piece of paper sine is opp/hyp cosine is adj/hyp tangent is opp/adj that is all
where in the problem will it tell me to do which? because problem three and four look EXACTLY the same.
the triangle does look the same, yes but one asks for cosine and the other asks for sine they are different ratios
omg im so stupid. I didn't see that if said sine or cosine in the problem. I read too fast. thank you so much for you patience. you're the best helper ever.
lol your welcome invoice is in the mail and tell your math teacher that a line segment of length 12 is more than two times as long as a line segment of length 5, so that picture is stupid and confusing
lolol sat always hate when the images are not to scale :) really ruffles his feathers
yes, and there is good reason for it
I hate FLVS. ): For question 5, I got A. am I right? If the sin 30° is 1 over 2, then the cos ____° = _____. 60° ; 1 over 2 30° ; square root 2 over 2 60° ; square root 3 over 2 30° ; 1
i hate flvs too that is a really dumb question "if sin(30) is 1/2" is like saying "if 1 + 1 = 2"
in any case they probably want you to write cos(60) =1/2
"If 1+1 = 2, then 2 + __ = __ " lol. ya it's worded poorly :)
ambiguous.
i can't begin to tell you how bad this question is math teacher in florida are on crack and should be summarily fired all of them
THANK YOU.
fortunately there is only one right answer, so put \[\cos(60)=\frac{1}{2}\]
I was right?! lawd.
well im heading to bed, thank you so much @satellite73 . You're great.
i just wrote FLVS and told them this question sucks
me too gnight
and your welcome
