Can anyone tell me what is the formula of area of major sector of circle

|dw:1409767468789:dw|

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Area of sector = fraction of circle *area of circle

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

That would be Area of sector = angle in degrees/360 *area of circle

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Or Area of sector = angle in radians/(2pi)*area of circle

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Make sense, @sheelo_mughal ?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

@sheelo_mughal Your diagram is a little misleading I think The sector is the whole of the pie-shaped piece of the circle (it is not the triangular bit you may have indicated)|dw:1409773387618:dw|
