Which sets of ordered pairs represent functions from A to B? A={10, 20, 30, 40} B={0, 2, 4, 6} a. {(20, 4), (40, 0), (20, 6), (30, 2)} b. {(10, 4), (20, 4), (30, 4), (40, 4)} c. {(40, 0), (30, 2), (20, 4), (10, 6)} d. {(20, 2), (10, 0), (40, 4)}

c. {(40, 0), (30, 2), (20, 4), (10, 6)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what means ..??why..??

welcome to open study..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why is the answer c? I need to know how to do the question, not just the answer. @zaibali.qasmi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay..listen... any set of order pair will represent a function if any of coordinate in order pairs in one set is not repeating..if different input values gives one result they are not function..!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or one vvalue gives different reult then it is not a function too..!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So why isn't d a function? I know b and c are and a isn't.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause given sets have four entries each so resulting function willhave four order pairs..!!that are all independent..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you welcome..!
