8-(3+b)=b-9

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

-3-b = b -17 -3-2b=-17 -2b=-14 b=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u change the positive B to a negative?

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

I distributed the negative infront of the parenthesis.

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

Do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooo thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

Sure...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u get -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and where did the 8 go

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

Same...I carried the negative sign all through the parenthesis. Which makes all positive negative, and all negative positive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 8

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did the 8 go

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

Oh! I subtracted it from the both sides, which leaves me a 0 on the left and a -17 on the right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u draw it im not go good with words sometimes

OpenStudy (sanjanap):

okay...sorry. My system slept.
