@Whitemonsterbunny17 @bookworm00981 Which word in the sentence is the direct object? Last week, the restaurant served three hundred meals. A. week B. three C. restaurant D. meals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would hope so :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is C

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I actually think it is D, but I could be wrong. :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I actually trust @Whitemonsterbunny17 judgement over mine so lets go with D lol

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I'm only thinking it is D because the definition of direct object: a noun phrase denoting a person or thing that is the recipient of the action of a transitive verb, for example the dog in Jimmy fed the dog. I believe the recipient of the action in this sentence is the meals, because the restaurant is serving the meals.
