Divide both sides of the equation by 4.. what u get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So
-9=9
It wouldn't matter if its negative?
Or does it fall into absolute value and just make it a positive?
OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):
@trippyhippie98 first of all,open modulus with +ve value and then -ve value.
OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):
there are two possibilities:-
\[\large \bf 4 \times 1(y-9)=36\]---------> First Possibility
\[\large \bf 4 \times -1(y-9)=36\]---------> Second Possibility
then solve for y.
And make sure that there are 2 values of y
OpenStudy (mayankdevnani):
understood? @trippyhippie98
