OpenStudy (freethinker):

to LAZY AMERICAN KIDS: learn the message in this video http://youtu.be/AAEB-5GOCJ4?t=1h13m14s

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Firstly, your topic specifically calls out a group of people in an insulting general manner. It's slightly racist, and this has nothing to do with OpenStudy Feedback.

Miracrown (miracrown):

Agreed. ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk I think there's some truth in it, and it's pretty obvious by some of the questions even asked on here, just my thought.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

No offence but take it in other way @Compassionate It's american kids who are lazy and not all american kids are lazy :)

Miracrown (miracrown):

They are lazy, they are ill-prepared, and they have been coddled in a "feel good" grading system for years in K-12, so they have no incentive to work hard. Its not their fault for being lazy, the environment around them shapes them the way they are. To them, the messages and the motivational speeches are worth nothing.

OpenStudy (freethinker):

perhaps.... perhaps

OpenStudy (freethinker):

and YES, I am calling out to a certain group of people but the question is, are you one of them?

OpenStudy (freethinker):

all you have to do is deny that you're lazy and this message will not apply to you :) it starts with being honest to oneself

Parth (parthkohli):

I'm slightly offended by this. Being a true American citizen, I can proudly say that no other contry has more swag than us. We make THE BEST HAMBERGERS IN THE WORLD!!! Coming to think of it, we're literally the best contry around.

OpenStudy (freethinker):

BERGER huh, you're so german

Miracrown (miracrown):

I cannot deny and I cannot agree, as I'm not an american. :)

Parth (parthkohli):

Stop talking bad about my contry.

OpenStudy (kainui):

In a way, @freethinker you are part of the problem because here you are coming along with a complete disconnect from the very people who need the help. Do you really think someone who needs to hear this message you're trying to give them has the attention span to watch an hour long video like this on youtube because some person insulted them on the internet saying they should? If you want to help, do something that isn't just an empty act like this. You need empathy to understand where these kids are coming from, you can't just say "GO". Rome wasn't built in a night and that's ok. See, while we're here and seeing these kids we all have an opportunity to help and show them something different. You can't save everybody, and I'm not saying I'm perfect or anything like that. We're all just a bunch of people, and a lot of the people here are really just lost among the many ways and that's ok, I get frustrated too. But we can't think of it as "us vs. them" because we're literally all in this together on a big isolated rock magically going in circles.

Parth (parthkohli):

^ I Didn't Read All Of That, But GOD BLESS AMERICA

OpenStudy (freethinker):

the message is only less than 5 minutes, about the same length as a music video :)

Miracrown (miracrown):

@ParthKohli you're such a patriot. :)

OpenStudy (freethinker):

it only becomes an insult if it is applicable

OpenStudy (kainui):

Game Boy Advance = GBA = God Bless America

OpenStudy (freethinker):

I am not going to defend laziness

Parth (parthkohli):

Guess we can say that... you're too lazy... to defend laziness!

OpenStudy (freethinker):

lmao

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Wow! i have seen this guy. this guy and morgan freeman show up everytime i put discovery channel. i use to wonder why the physics guy spends more time in studio than his research lab... but i couldn't get to know about his personal life much, bit excite to watch this video now that you recommended xD

OpenStudy (freethinker):

they get interviewed from time to time and he teaches at City College of NY

Parth (parthkohli):

that's not Morgan Freeman that's Neil DeGrasse Tyson

OpenStudy (freethinker):

I wouldn't want to be one of his students though. It'd feel like I was watching NOVA channel

OpenStudy (freethinker):

Morgan Freeman, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Brian Green and Michio Kaku all narrated for the NOVA Science Channel, I am not sure if they all did for Discovery

OpenStudy (freethinker):

anyways, he was echoing a political statement about the current affairs in the United States and I empathize with his sentimentalities (original meaning)

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

i remember a user pretend to be @Michio.Kaku lol

OpenStudy (ikram002p):

:3 i wished at that time that its truly him xD http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/538ac87de4b02fec90351c83

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It wasn't I exposed him :c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Somebody close this

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

Clickbait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Ashleyisakitty ...?

OpenStudy (compassionate):

I understand the reason why you posted this, but you could have worded it better, and in no shape or form is this "Feedback."

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Michio Kaku is awesome, but i wish he would stop talking about string theory as if it was the truth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A recent study showed that highschool students had the same level of anxiety as insane asylum patients from the early 1900's. (30's or 40's i think). It's ridiculous to try to generalize a whole population of students as lazy in the school system. The US is a diverse country and there a millions living in it. there are lazy and there are hard working students and if you compare the school work from now to back then ( preferably the 20th century) you'd be surprised at how the work has doubled. Yes there may have been some changes such as technology and the internet that may seem as though we take it for granted but really this improvement should be applauded instead of criticized. Students such as me have bigger and better opportunities in the world due to our position in the modern world and although some misuse it, it doesnt represent an entire community. Its better to have an easier and more productive educational community than an very old and simplistic one. Some of us are hard workers, others are not. Big whoop.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just would like to let you now that not all American children are lazy. Some are trained to be hard workers and get good grades in school . I agree the system Americans use is very people pleasing. People live with their parents until they're 30. But you can't be stereotyped about it. Not everyone is lazy. @freethinker

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@freethinker and how do you think hard working American children would feel about that. It's wrong of you to accuse people of being lazy when the whole may not be.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks Olaf. I work hard walking dogs, studying, scrubbing floors, and babysitting and this happens -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah yes, every single american ever. every one specifically, is lazy. Every single one of them.

OpenStudy (ashleyisakitty):

butthurt americans are butthurt.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow..you are a mod? I don't believe this! -_-
