Solve the inequality 5-7x>19 **With a line under the >** Graph your solution set, and write the solution in interval notation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[5-7x \ge 19\]

OpenStudy (nikato):

1. Subtract 5 on both sides. 2. Divide both sides by -7 Remember when u divide by a negative number, you have to flip the inequality sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did that part but its really the Graph your solution set, and write the solution in interval notation part I and not comprehending :P

OpenStudy (nikato):

Ok. So what did you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not* sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got \[x \ge -2\]

OpenStudy (nikato):

It should be x< or equal to -2

OpenStudy (nikato):

I think you forgot to flip the sign after you divide both sides by -7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THATS RIGHT!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I totally forgot about flipping it! Is that always after dividing?

OpenStudy (nikato):

Only dividing or multiplying by NEGATIVE numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):
