A function (f) is given by the formula...f(x)=A*e^(k*x) for constants (A) and (k) we also know that f(5)=2 and f(8)=5. Find numerical values for the constants A and k.

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

You have 2 equations and 2 unknowns: \[\large f(5)=Ae^{5k}=2\\ \large f(8)=Ae^{8k}=5\] Try and solve for A in each equation, and then equate those together to find A. Then once you have A, you'll be able to find x by plugging in the value of A into either equation
