@ganeshie8 HELP!

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

so the testing of a function for odd, even or neither involves substituting x = - x into the function and then simplifying the conditions are if f(-x) = f(x) the function is even f(-x) = -f(x) the function is odd f(-x) doesn't follow the above rules its neither so \[f(-x) = -4(-x)^3 + 4(-x)\] now simplify it and see what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x-4x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be even? @campbell_st

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st help!

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

no you get \[f(-x) = 4x^3 - 4x =-(-4x^3 + 4x)\] you get the negative version of the original function... so its odd

ohhh gotcha, thanks!
