This sounds like an exercise from statistics or data analysis. You are given a proportion (2312 out of 664870 women) of women in a study who meet a certain criterion. You use this known data (in the form of a fraction or ratio) to predict how many women among a sample of 1000 will give birth to twins. Find that ratio, and then multiply 1000 by it.
Note that @-studyshark- had the right inspiration but found the less-than-helpful ratio 664870 over 2312; the desired ratio is 2312 / 664870.
@mathmale @EcoBoost yeah sorry about that mate. I dont use caculators so sometimes that happens.
