Every pay period, Steven budgets 7/12 of his paycheck for expenses, 1/6 for savings, and the rest for recreation. His paycheck is $864.80. How much money does Steven put aside for recreation each pay period? CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE I'LL GIVE YOU A MEDAL AND A FAN???
can someone please help me???
his expenses are 7/12 his savings are 1/6 his pay is $864.80 say..... \(\bf \cfrac{{\color{brown}{ 2}}\cdot 1}{{\color{brown}{ 2}}\cdot6}\implies ?\)
2/12???
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME
so 2/12 meaning that 1/6 is really equals to 2/12 if you just simplify 2/12 you'd get 1/6 thus they're the same so now we know that savings are 2/12 so Steven really 7/12 + 2/12 + "recreation money" = 864.80 so \(\bf \cfrac{7}{12}+\cfrac{2}{12}+{\color{brown}{ recreation}}=864.80\implies \cfrac{9}{12}+{\color{brown}{ recreation}}=864.80 \\ \quad \\ {\color{brown}{ recreation}}=864.80-\cfrac{9}{12}\)
hmm actaully lemme fix that some... should be a fraction of the quantity
\(\bf \cfrac{7}{12}(864.80)+\cfrac{2}{12}(864.80)+{\color{brown}{ recreation}}=864.80 \\ \quad \\ \cfrac{9}{12}(864.80)+{\color{brown}{ recreation}}=864.80 \\ \quad \\ {\color{brown}{ recreation}}=864.80-\cfrac{9}{12}(864.80)\)
