Suppose you balance a 2.0-kg ball on the tip of your finger, which has an area of 1.2cm2 . Find the pressure on your finger. Well pressure = force/area and the force exerted by 2kg is 19.6N (9.8N=1kg) so it would be: 19.6N/1.2cm^2 = 16.33 Is that correct? If so what unit would I use to express the pressure?

Okay thank you raffle, but is my answer correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I have to convert cm^2 to m^2 first? Or is it fine the way I did it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I convert cm^2 to m^2 it would be .00012m^2 as the area. That would give: 19.6N/.00012m^2 = 163333.33 N/m^2 or 163333.33 Pa or 163.33 kPa So would that be the correct answer?
