Hydraulic Head
the energy that causes groundwater to flow; the total mechanical energy per unit weight; the sum of the elevation head and the pressure head

Zone of Saturation (saturated zone)
the zone in which the pore spaces between soil and rock particles are completely filled with water. The water table is the top of the zone of saturation
