OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

Check my answer please?? medal ~ 2. Freckles are a dominant characteristic. What are the possible genotypes for a child born to one parent who does not have freckles (ff) and one parent who is heterozygous for freckles (Ff)? Ff or ff -> what i think it is. FF, Ff or ff Only ff Only Ff

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

but would it be only Ff ? because of the capitol F?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

*bc of the dominance

OpenStudy (aaronq):

You are right that it could be Ff or ff. it's easy to visualize if you draw a punnett square |dw:1409948839232:dw|

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

i did, it would be Ff if all the squares had Ff right? and that would then be heterozygous?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Yes that would be correct. The punnett square gives you not only the possible genotypes but also their expected frequencies. Half of the offspring would be Ff and half would be ff.

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

THANK YOU SO MUCH. i think i got it now. ! // on a side note.. is your icon Link form Wind Waker .. ? cx

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem ! and yes, yes it is! :D

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

niiiiiiiiice haaa. i was going to ask you but got sidetracked, thanks again ~
