OpenStudy (ria23):

How would I find the vertex of a graph with only an equation? y - 3 = -(x+2)^2

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

add 3 to both sides of the equation \[y = a(x -h)^2 + k\] \[y = -(x + 2)^2 + 3\] a general vertex form is has a vertex at (h, k) match you're modified equation to the general form to find the vertex

OpenStudy (ria23):

(-2,3) ?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

that's it

OpenStudy (ria23):

^u^ Thank yhu so much!
