a historian is an expert in or student of history, especially that of a particular period, geographical region, or social phenomenon.

a historian studies the past. it wouldn't be A because that doesn't make sense, it wouldn't be C because they don't come up with theories really.

I think so too. historians study the past, they don't create theories and disprove interpretations of past events
