If I have a parabola with a turning point of (5/2, -81/4) what are my domain and range?

OpenStudy (fateal):

isnt domain the X and range the Y??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes and I know that the range has to be greater than or equal to -81/4 but I am not 100% sure of the x range :)

OpenStudy (fateal):

hmm ok.... then isnt there a formla that you have to use?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i don't think so not sure LOL

OpenStudy (fateal):

oh ok i see x3 sorry thats the best i can do for now o.e

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

the domain of the parabola is all real x... the range is dependent upon whether the turning point is a maximum or minimum for a maximum the range is \[y \le -81/4\] if the turning point is a minimum then the range is \[y \ge -81/4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if I then have to restrict the domain for the inverse of the function?
