need help with exponents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(\frac{ 2k ^{6} }{ 8k ^{5} })^{3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(4d ^{3}\times d)^{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(\frac{ dn }{ 6d ^{6}n ^{4}})^{3}\]

OpenStudy (phi):

you should post only 1 question at a time, otherwise it gets too confusing.

OpenStudy (phi):

did you try your first problem? can you simplify *any* of it ?

OpenStudy (phi):

are you saying you don't know how to simplify 2/8 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/4

OpenStudy (phi):

ok

OpenStudy (phi):

now, do you know how to simplify (for example) k/k ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equals k

OpenStudy (phi):

anything divided by itself is 1 (except 0/0, which is not defined) that rule works for k/k

OpenStudy (phi):

what about \[ \frac{k\cdot k}{k\cdot k} \]?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i didn't know what to do with the 3, do i 1 x 3/ 1x 4, or 1 x 1 x 1/ 4 x 4 x 4

OpenStudy (phi):

we haven't gotten to the 3 yet first, can you simplify \[ \frac{k\cdot k}{k\cdot k} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the rest of the problem, I got the answer wrong because I did not know what to do with the 3
