OpenStudy (anonymous):
A society of farmers is raided annually by an outsider group. The outsiders at first just raided for food/supplies while attacking the farmers, but eventually figured out it would be easier to benefit from the work of the farmers if the outsiders just moved in and controlled the farmers always.
