evaluate each function for the given value of x, and write the input and output f(x) as an ordered pair. 1. f(x)=17x+3 (for x=4) 2. f(x)= -2x+1(over)3 for x=-5 3. f(x)=2x-33 for x=9 4. f(x)=-9x-2 for x=7 5. f(x)=7/3x-9 for x=3 6. f(x)= -12x(over)5 for x=-1 7. f(x)=11x-11 for x=-11

OpenStudy (aum):

f(x) = 17x + 3 put x = 4 f(4) = 17*4 + 3 = 68 + 3 = 71 ordered pair is (x, y) = (4, 71) Same procedure for the rest.

OpenStudy (kl0723):

#1 basically y = 17(4) + 3 = 71 just sub the x value :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aum thanks that cleared it up. when you say 17*4 in the last part, what goes there for the *? parentheses?

OpenStudy (aum):

* is just a symbol for multiplication. sometimes using x for multiplication confuses with the variable x and so I used *.

OpenStudy (aum):

f(4) = 17 x 4 + 3 = 68 + 3 = 71
