one variable equations help?
ooking back at an old concept i could never understand and its been 6 hours and i still can't fully understand i get the basic questions ezpz but then the big ones come in like -2 (x+1) =5x+4-X and i trip up every time
looking*
you seem not to be so stuck!
What do you mean?
I just can't grasp what x you are getting at? it is x or X? it is a one-variable equation or two-variable??
no its a one variable…but i didn't realized i made it capital X should bne lower case mb
Well its ok I'm probably just explaining it wrong… oh well ill just look in the textbooks for the 8th time XDDD
-2(x + 1) = 5x + 4 - x -2x - 2 = (5x - x) + 4 -2x - 2 = 4x + 4 adding +2x to both sides: +2x -2x - 2 = 2x + 4x + 4 -2 = 6x + 4 adding -4 to both sides: -4 - 2 = 6x + 4 - 4 -6 = 6x -->x = -1
i have a question
when something says to add you always subtract and the same for multiplication and division?
@k142 you get what I'm saying?
