why did slavery continue after the Revolution

After the Revolutionary War, people still believed that it was okay to own slaves. They needed the workers for their farms and workers for their businesses. It wasn't until the mid-1800's that people began to abolish slavery. Slavery for parts of the United States ended after the Civil War. Today, slavery has ended, but out of nowhere it could start back up again.
