–12 ÷ 3 • (–8 + (–4)^2 – 6) + 2=122. But it needs to go into steps and I can't figure that out.

OpenStudy (igreen):

PEMDAS Parenthesis, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. \(–12 ÷ 3 • (–8 + (–4)^2 – 6) + 2\) First simplify \((-4)^2\). \(–12 ÷ 3 • (–8 + 16 – 6) + 2\) Now add \(-8 + 16\). \(–12 ÷ 3 • (8 – 6) + 2\) Now subtract \(8 - 6\). \(–12 ÷ 3 • 2 + 2\) Now divide \(–12 ÷ 3\). \(-4 • 2 + 2\) Now multiply \(-4 • 2\). \(-8 + 2\) Finally, add \(-8 + 2\). \(-6\)
